BOUCHEROUITE, meaning "rag" in Moroccan Arabic, is a style of rug that is crafted by weaving dyed recycled textiles together. Traditionally, these rugs were created with bits of scraps in areas where raw materials were scarce. The designs of the rugs are inspired by nature, traditional motifs and the surroundings of the Berber women who create them. Passed on from generations, this form of expressionism has become a favorite of designers.
As a vintage piece that has been woven entirely by hand, the shapes of these rugs are often known to be imperfect. This Boucherouite rug has a repeating diamond pattern, creating the appearance of an all over floral.
All rugs have been cleaned and restored. They are in excellent condition and have been very well preserved.
Hand picked by MarraMarket in Marrakech, these artistic rugs will be the perfect complement to any contemporary living space. We love seeing them used in children's playrooms and high traffic areas due to their durability!
