This is a beautiful Marmoucha rug from the Southern region of the Middle Atlas mountains. It is a highly sought after style of rug made from the very finest wool. These are hand-woven by Berber women, from the highest quality of sheep's wool. The wool is not dyed to achieve the variations in color, it is all natural.
Similar in style to Beni Ourain rugs, they are the most plush and luxurious of Moroccan carpets. These modern looking rugs are recognized by their signature geometric designs and symbols, in black on an ivory background.
